"In view of global change and increased necessity for intensification, perennial grains and long-duration varieties offer a nature-based solution for improving farm productivity and smallholder livelihoods in suboptimal agricultural areas. Specific conditions where perennial grains should be considered include locations where biophysical and social constraints reduce agricultural system efficiency, and where conditions are optimal for crop growth."—Peter et al. 2017

CARTOGRAPHY: It's tough to make a visually interesting map when there's not much land area to display. I decided to experiment with geometry and big, bold inset maps to convey importance and introduced a large legend to add more color.
